Remember when piggy back rides used to bring a smile to your face? You know…kind of like how ice cream, chocolate, pie, and funnel cake bring a whole other level of excitement to anything you’re doing? (yes…my happiness does revolve around food!) Well…I had a day off today (yes!) and finished working on some of the birthday pictures from the week and came across this one:
Horsie Back or Piggy Back?
I love this picture. It reminds me of how simple and fun things used to be. Maybe that’s why I love birthday parties so much =) Especially one’s with clowns/magicians/mimes all rolled into one package (I love Vietnamese entertainers)
A couple of clowns
Every kid got a monkey…stuffed it…and took it home. (yes…even the big kids)
Just the neighborhood kids
Chuck and my sis taking care of it all
(Note: Some reposts are featured here from the family blog because the image size is limited to 500 pixels)
(PS – If you don’t know what a pixel is…just forget I ever said anything and find yourself some funnel cake =)

Birthday party shenanigans
Bunnies!
And as always…the ever elusive double baby shot (you can see I couldn’t snap one today…those twins are so tricky!)
Gettin ready
So Katie and Alyssa turned 1 last Wednesday, and in honor of their first birthday, my sister and bro-in-law put together a little baby party for kids around the neighborhood. Kids only have a 1st birthday once, and in Vietnamese tradition, the first birthday is always really important. I helped setup at the house and went to bed early, hoping to get up super early to get some research done before ALL of my nephews and nieces woke up. Well…5:30am comes and guess who’s up first? That’s right…the little terrors (aka Katie and Alyssa). Since they were up and so was I, my sister and I took them for some pictures at the park across the street.
Hi Katie!
Some sand action
Twinsies
Airplane!
Seesaw with the little buddies
They loved this thing! Even though they were scared to jump on in the beginning, they were bouncing like little balls after a few minutes
Some rope action
i can haz duckee?
Yes! Here I come!
I miss these babies!
Baby party at our house…be there, or be square
Rockin the birthday dresses (Katie on left, Alyssa aka Alfalfa on right)
Katie and Alyssa turn 1 today (and by today, I mean yesterday)! I suck since I didn’t post this yesterday, but I had places to go, people to see, and as always, enemies to make (not really). But I digress…My sister dressed little Katie and Alyssa up in little tiny baby dresses today that she picked out for their little party on Sunday (notice the overuse of the word “little”…it’s cause they’re both like 2 percentile on the growth chart!). Yes…they are growing and getting bigger, just slowly. Anyway, as always, my sister picked out a million outfits from the mall. I think this one makes the girls look like little ballerinas. The others? Well…let’s just say my sister doesn’t ever have the best taste in clothes all the time. At least there was one outfit that was acceptable!
Babies and balloons
Are you getting lost in my eyes yet? No? Well…it’s just cause I wet my diaper. Just you wait til I’m fresh and clean =)
“Oh wait! Let me turn my head to its good side”
I have a pretty strong feeling that these two are gonna get CRAZY on Sunday! Stay tuned!
Just missed it! Stopped by Chick-fil-a today with Dee to see if we could be one of the first 100 people (they’re giving out free chick-a-filet for a year to the first 100 people) but I was #144 this morning. No way I would have made it considering the fact that people were camping out since last night! Oh well…at least it was a fun trip. And it was nice catching up with Dee again…it’s been like 7 years!
